The International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame Award

This spectacular award is a native craft unique to the Cayman Islands, host country for the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame.

Inspired by the famous dive site known as Sting Ray City, the three manta rays mounted atop the sculpture also represent the three islands which comprise the Caymans.  A local artist, Horacio Esteban of Esteban Galleries, was commissioned to create awards which would embody these themes.

He used two materials, limestone and Caymanite, the latter a mineral indigenous to the Cayman Islands. The weight and amount of these materials make each individual sculpture weigh a full twenty pounds.
